*** UPDATE: Click here to read Part 3 of the 2012 XMAS Promothon

Back for more, eh? Part 1 of the 2012 Christmas Promothon included reviews of the recent promotional campaigns from some of the leading online casinos: bwin, 888, Casino Club, William Hill, Europa Casino and the Mansion Group. In this second part, we examine the campaigns of Party Casino, PAF, Bet365, Intertops, Everest, and All-Slots.

A quick reminder on how we’re scoring the promos. Points are allocated on the basis of:

The Return of Da Christmas Promothon: Part 1

*** UPDATE: Click here to read Part 2 and Part 3 of the 2012 XMAS Promothon

Your boss: “Guys, you have done a hell of a job this year. As the Marketing Director, I’m inviting the entire CRM team for an all-inclusive weekend in Ibiza, just before you leave for the annual holidays vacation. The company will take care of everything, so all you need to pack are condoms! Oh, and Thomas, last time we all went out partying the poor waitress didn’t really understood what kind of SPECIAL COFFEE you were trying to order, so you might want to bring it with you this time.”

You: “Sorry boss, next week the Christmas Promothon is due to go live and we really want to ensure our casino promo is in top shape. So we’ll have to take a rain check on that this time.”

Guess who’s back, back again? That’s right, your buddy, Da Christmas Promothon. The El Supremo of all CRMers, and the one time through the year when that cute blonde from the Affiliates Team might even pay attention to what you do. Not everything you do, of course — unlike you, such fine-looking people have a life to lead and such. But you might hear a polite comment along the lines of “what a stupid promo those weirdoes from CRM are creating for Christmas.” Ahh, you’ll have to cherish such lovely moments.

And this time we have a twist – we are going to also compare last year’s promos with the ones the same operators have launched this December. Ranking will be based on the following parameters: Continue reading

Season’s Greetings!

Yes, as you CRMers are filled with joy and love for all other human beings – only if they are VIPs, that is – it’s that time of the year all over again. No, we don’t refer to your pathetic attempts during the annual office party of getting 15 seconds of human contact (yes Thomas, we know that’s 14 seconds more than you need)…

We are talking about your glorious XMAS Promos!!

BarSanta

Now, if you could design a promo as naughty as this picture, surely you will win this 2012 XMAS Promothon, but most likely you will need to settle for creative content, luxurious prizes and amusing graphics. Last time we run this event (Part #1, Part #2), PAF won by being super generous and picking just the right theme. Can you do better? Go ahead and send us your promo either to this address or by submitting it below.

Everest Casino have already launched their event with a unique “Golden” twist. We challenge you to gain some industry respect and beat the competition!

As always, we will objectively review all submitted campaigns, praise the ones we shamelessly got paid in order to rank them higher, and laugh at all of you others Scrooges. Why? Because we value family traditions, that’s why.

Much like these two mythic figures, we expect yet another clash of epic proportions!

Industry Publication of the Year @gamingawards

GamingAwardsWe did it again!  Yours truly just got nominated for the 6th International Gaming Awards, and this time we are running for the “Industry Publication” title.

In fact we are so unique, that we only have 22 other competitors in the same category – how easy is that?

As we aim to represent all of you proud CRMers out there, all we would politely ask you to do is:

(A) If you know in person any of the respected judges, please go ahead and shamelessly offer to bribe them (feel free to invoice us at any point – you know you can always trust us with money…);

(B) Assuming you haven’t got the funds nor the connections to conduct section (A) above, simply embrace yourself for yet another colossal disappointment :)

GAMING-AWARDS, HERE WE COME! (especially considering this picture and all)

One big whale or a school of little fish?

Which would you prefer? An extra €200 in monthly revenue from one player or an extra €10 in monthly revenue from 20 players? (Note to Thomas: stop scratching your head… they are the same thing!)

Loyalty expert Paul Hebert recently published a very interesting article that tries to answer this question, and we’ll translate his text into online casino lingo for you. It’s not that we don’t trust you to comprehend such long texts on your own. It’s that we simply don’t trust you at all.

In the past, we have already discussed the importance of the Social Aspect in your CRM work, and how “Tribe Leaders” change the importance of traditional KPIs. Today, we will be looking at the revenue and social payoffs of your online gambling loyalty program. Continue reading

Monetizing Social Gaming

During next year’s iCE event in London (FEB 4-6, 2013), Shahar Attias of Hybrid Interaction will be moderating the first session of the day, focused at “Social gaming – threat or opportunity for the gambling sector?”.

Please read the complete press release, and contact us for any media inquiries or in order to set a meeting during the event. First dozen of beers are on us :)

And something else we owe you from our 1st birthday: results of the annual survey, with everything that you – our highly moral readers – value and cherish while reading oh-so-sophisticated content on this blog.

What did you liked most? Clearly, someone managed to bribe our entire database. Yes, of course we do sell it, and for quite cheap, but still – only less than a third of you have voted in favor of focusing on models pics and bashing Thomas? Right… and the most popular topic you immature people wanted us to most write about is “Professional tips, interviews & webinars” (27%). Sure – that makes sense.

As much sense as seeing Bud Bundy going on a date on a Friday night. That much.

Happy 1st Birthday!

How about that? A year has already passed since we have started working on this blog, and this has been quite a ride… First came the “About” page, with our manifest on why being a proud CRMer is so important to our highly moral iGaming industry, followed by the “Welcome” post, with this quotation:

“…company’s sales come from two groups: new customers and repeat customers. One estimate is that attracting a new customer can cost 5 times as much as pleasing an existing one. And it might cost 16 times as much to bring the new customer to the same level of profitability as that of the lost customer. Customer retention is thus more important than customer attraction.” (Marketing Management by Philip Kotler, Univ. of Phoenix).

To the question why have we started doing this anyway, we have first answered this way:

We figure – as all of us already provide high level business consultation to globally recognized iGaming brands through www.hybridinteraction.com – we might as well lead the community of CRM people, and try having fun while we are at it. After all, we meet with you guys during our various projects, and hey – some of you are quite interesting talking to (not you Thomas… told you many times you are just stupid!).

So join us. We have cookies…

And later on, we have really mastered the art of word (yes, hilarious), and answered in a much simpler manner: “Mind your own business”. Classic.

Online Casinos Halloween Promothon 2012

** Rolling update: read about our twitter chat with 888 Casino!

Happy New Year! Oh, wait… I’ve lost track of time and other elements of reality. That’s what happens when you spend several days in Vegas – you look around and see people with their clothes on and you’re sure you’re hallucinating.

What else can be said about the G2E? Not a lot, due to the strict “What happens in Vegas …” rule, but if you missed it this time, don’t worry. I am sure you had plenty of other, better things to do besides attend the largest gambling conference on earth.

Speaking of delusional people, I have found this great article that offers a few alternatives in dealing with the Thomas-like managers in your company. Is it relevant for you? Only if you can relate to this paragraph: “Let’s pretend, hypothetically, that you report to a manager who falls short of ideal. Perhaps he (or she) undermines your efforts, micromanages, only notices what’s wrong, doesn’t walk the talk, vanishes into thin air, takes credit for your work, has vague expectations, doesn’t communicate, criticizes you in public, and expects you to do the work of a small nation.” Yeah, I kind of guessed this would interest you.

Getting back to Halloween, this holiday – like so many others – is a good excuse for creating a promotion. So in this post, we’ll see how various online casino operators are doing so and we’ll “objectively” pick a winner. Why using this sarcastic tone? Because this time we are being shamelessly paid! Just kidding… we still hopelessly try to find a rigged enough operator to bribe us, but no one took our open offer in such a highly moral industry. We still hope you’ll get some insights into best practices for promotions, Halloween-themed and otherwise. This is how much we love you.

How are we going to rank these beautifully and oh-so-creatively crafted campaigns? Continue reading
